Slow Photography

Slow Photography is a response to the spread of digital photography and the quick “snapshot mentality” that pervades much of image making today. Photographic artists revisit manual techniques and working methods to work slower, manually and in constant dialogue with the physical materials of the images and the spiritual dimensions of their subjects. Slow photography can be seen in the context of cultural and environmental mindsets and associated with other movements such as slow food, slow travel etcetera.
