New View Camera Purchase June 17 2013, 0 Comments

I just purchased another view camera for the studio. It's a simple 4"x5" camera, built like a tank, and made by the Burke & James company which was in business from 1897 until 1970. I'll be using it for my wet plate collodion work as well as for creating large format film portraits in black & white. I used one of these cameras back in the 70's when I worked at the old Star Photo on Williamson Street here in Madison. It will be like reuniting with an old friend. I hope to acquire an 8x10 view camera soon. I'm loving being back in the darkroom again using plates and film again!
